writing update pt. 2
Last week, I mentioned that I’ve finished the second draft of a new novel.
This novel is titled The Archives Alliance, and it’s The Breakfast Club meets The Magicians (more the tv show than the book).
Now that’s an elevator pitch, y’all.
I’ve got notes done for the 3rd draft. Once I have that 3rd draft completed, I’ll probably hand it to a beta reader or two. I *might* go through it one more time, but I suspect that is unlikely. Third drafts are generally when I start feeling sick of reading my own work and need to either let it sit for a couple months or make somebody else read it. I’d love to get the final version out the door before Christmas, which is probably a completely unrealistic goal, but hope springs eternal in the ADHD brain. So I’ll most likely hand Draft Three to one or two betas and tell them “you have three weeks,” and they will laugh and call me a sweet summer child because these are people with actual lives, and we will all get on with it as best we can.
If you’ve been following along at all: The Archives Alliance takes place when Allasin Calarasi is just a snot-nosed kid. He doesn’t make an on-screen appearance, but all of the main characters of my story already know who he is. But Rethana Chosardal isn’t born yet.
More on Archives as this situation develops.
XOXO
